Hi there! My name is Dr. Jan Jaffer and the best thing about my profession is creating long lasting, lifetime relationships with my clients.
I attended University of the Pacific in San Francisco, where I was enrolled in a program, which consisted of two years of undergraduate school and three years of dental school. I graduated in 2002 with my DDS.
Ranchlands is a family business, and a family run business has always been a big part of my life. My dad is a dentist and from an early age I knew that dentistry was for me- it’s a decision I wouldn’t change! I find everyday a new challenge and get the opportunity to build relationships with my clients. We have some patients who come to us once they’ve moved out of the province. But, my favourite thing to see is when we have three generations sitting in our chairs- the two year old, the parent and the grandparent!
I am actively involved in giving back to the community, and I love every minute of it. I volunteer my time to Kindness in Action, a group of individuals motivated by rights to basic human needs that puts a focus on oral health. I am also involved with Dentistry for All, an organization that looks to educate, prevent and do corrective treatments for oral health. I was fortunate enough to volunteer in Guatemala twice in 2013 and in 2014 I will get to go to Peru and Guatemala!
In my free time I am active- I absolutely love Crossfit, am a certified ski instructor and a tennis instructor, though I usually take part in all of these activities for fun. I also love to snowboard, travel and learn new things. When it comes to education, I am always on the lookout to brush up on my skills.
